Tribute to Luc Ferrari
For the electroacoustic suite Casi nada [Almost Nothing (as in Presque rien)], I have used several sounds borrowed from the composer Luc Ferrari. The discourse ebbs and flows between abstraction and anecdote.
Various moments in the piece are characterized by some of Ferrari’s sounds that disintegrate into a thousand shards and become a background texture. Recurring sound objects (swords, the rhythm of the rain, fireworks) serve as narrative threads.
