Elsa Justel
Born in 1944 in Mar del Plata (Argentina), Elsa Justel obtained a Professor Diploma in Music Education and Choir Conducting at the Conservatory of Mar del Plata. She studied composition at the University of Rosário with Virtú Maragno and electroacoustic music in Buenos Aires with José Maranzano and Francisco Kröpfl.
In 1988 she moves to France where she graduated with a Doctorate in Esthetics, Sciences and Technologies of the Arts at the Université de Paris VIII, under the direction of Horacio Vaggione. She taught new composition techniques at the Conservatorio Provincial de Música Luis Gianneo in Mar del Plata (Argentina), sound techniques and sound form at the Universite Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (France) and electroacoustic music at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain). She has published various articles on electroacoustic music and videomusic and has participated in many conferences as a speaker.
Her music has won awards at several competitions
Elsa Justel has also realized audiovisual projects and music for films and the stage. Her videomusic Destellos won prizes at the Video Evento d’Arte competition (Italy, 2002), and the Bourges competition (France, 2002).
